Adidas Men’s Shoes Page

Wells Fargo Home Page

Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven!!!

Starting off with the good example of white space, the Adidas men’s sneaker page makes beautiful use of positive and negative space. The text they use is minimal but gives enough information to know everything about the products and where to go for other types of products. Every shoe is evenly spaced and large enough to get the full gist of the product but has enough white space to not overload your senses. When you hover over the particular product you are interested in, a thin black outline appears over the product and associated information to further direct your attention to the product.

The next example of good white space is the Wells Fargo home page. Upon first glance, this website seems like there might be too much white space but when you start look at the intricacies of the page, you will notice how effective it is for the purpose of attracting customers. Some of the sections have soft shadow borders to distinguish between different sections of content. They use large text and pictures for easy readability and put a lot of space in between them so you aren’t bombarded with information. For a banking and investing website, it can be overwhelming when there are many sections of information that pertain to different aspects of banking leaving you confused about where to go. This website does a good job of making sure you only see what you want to see.

The final example that has virtually no white space, is the Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to Heaven!!! website. If this wasn’t a website with so much information and following, I would think this website is satirical. There is so much sensory overload that it hurts to even just look at. The background of the website is dark and outer space themed. There are so many different bright colors on the page that could work if there wasn’t so much text on the page. There are many different types of fonts, bolding, improper use of punctuation like multiple exclamations marks, and contrasting sizes and placements of pictures. All of these observations can be seen without even scrolling down the page. As you scroll down the page, the content is very unorganized and has no sense of cohesion. I couldn’t even tell you what the point of this website is and if there was a particular subject you were looking for information on there is no way to easily access it as the entire website is one long page. There are many issues with this page but for starters, you would need to pick one type of font and use it throughout the whole page and stick to a maximum of 3 colors. Sorting the information of this page would be a nightmare but you could start by going through each of the links posted and start by creating generalized categories of information and creating multiple webpages on this website for easier navigation.
